WHAT ARE Ghost CARS or Autonomous Cars?
Ghost cars, or autonomous cars are cars which are not controlled by a person but rather by hardware or software. In SmartRace you can configure up to six ghost cars. There are some steps you need to follow in order to get your ghost cars up and running – here is how it works.
CONFIGURE Ghost CARS
- Connect SmartRace to your Scalextric ARC Pro track and make sure to put the track into digital mode.
- Go to Ghost Cars in the main menu in SmartRace. You can chose which of the six available controllers you would like to use as ghost cars.
- Make sure that any car which is linked to this controller is on the track. To enable the ghost car mode for a controller, toggle the switch next to the controller number. Now adjust the cars speed by using the slider next to the toggle. Start with a low value and increase it slowly to see which speed the car can handle before it deslots.
- As long as the toggle is switched on and the track is in green flag mode, the car will continue to drive. Ghost cars will however react to track events, meaning that suspending an event will stop all ghost cars and starting/resuming it will release the ghost cars
- Please note that due to limitations of the ARC hardware and firmware, ghost cars can not switch lanes.
