Setting up maximum and minimum speeds for cars

If you would like to reduce the maximum speed of a car (e.g. to make it easier for children to control the cars) or the minimum speed, you can do this in the Car Calibration section in the main menu. Once the dialog has opened, you will see six boxes (2 for ARC One/Air) with two sliders each. Each box represents a controller and the car assigned to this controller. The green slider controls the maximum speed, the red slider the minimum speed.

Changing the sliders will transmit the new settings to the respective car immediately. The settings will also be stored in the car database.

Calibrating the minimum speed

In order to use features like weather or the virtual safety car, a minimum speed has to be calibrated for each car. Since cars behave differently, it is recommended to repeat this process for each car to make sure it has the proper minimum speed.

If e.g. a virtual safety car is deployed, all cars on track will automatically have their speed reduced. The calibrated minimum speed will then be used to make sure the car doesn’t stop on track but is able to move at the lowest possible speed.

Understanding the slider values

As mentioned above, maximum and minimum speeds will also be stored in the car database. That means that every car has its individual speeds attached to it. The speed values will automatically be transmitted to the track if you assign a car to a controller through the Controller Assignments section and then cross the finish line with this car for the first time. If you open the Car Calibration section, you will see which speeds have been configured for the assigned cars. If no speeds have been configured yet, default values will be displayed.
